Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok

// April 4th, 2013 // 5 Stars Hotels, Chatrium Hotel

Lately, I had the chances to stay in 5 Stars Hotel in Bangkok. Lucky me! Therefore, today I would like to review how it is for the hotels I stayed at. There were 2 hotels:

  1. Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok
  2. Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside Bangkok

From the name, one thing they have in common is that they are the hotel just next to Chaopraya river.
You can go there by BTS, Saphan Taksin station[connecting to Sathorn Pier], then walk all the way left to the pier where there are so many shuttle boats of many hotels for free. The shuttle boats will come in every 15-30 minutes.

Let’s get start with :

Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok

Free Shuttle Boat

It took me like 5 minutes on shuttle boat. When we arrived to the hotel, the beauty of the river view and the unique style of the hotels got me say WOW!

1. Location [I rate: 8.5/10]

Swimming pool,Chatrium

Chatrium was located in one of the most beautiful river view in Bkk. There are 3 buildings which are hotel and residence. 7-11 is in the part of residence which was the best for me. You can walk to Charuen Krung Road, but there was not much thing to do around, unless you take shuttle boat to Sathorn Pier, and take boat to other places ; such as Wat Arun and Wat Pho [Ta tien pier], Khao San Road [Ta Pha Artit pier]

But it’s quite good for someone that want to relax in the quiet space.

2. Staff Performance [I rate: 7/10]

There was not much staff to take care of us, but anyway they were nice. It was too quiet for me in the lobby. No welcome drink for us, but it was fine.

When we wanted to check out, we had to wait very long because of too many guesses.
Overall, the staff didn’t play much role in our stay.

3. Cleanliness [I rate: 9.5/10]

It was very clean everywhere. In the room, it was flawless. I didn’t see anything wrong about the cleanliness here

4. Room Comfort/Standard [I rate: 9.7/10]

5 stars hotel

We were surprised by the very big size of the room, 60 metersquare devided to living room, shower room, little kitchen and bedroom.

It was like a heaven. In the bedroom, you can see the city view and a little of river view on the 19th floor.

There were TV in the bedroom and also the living room.

5. Value for Money [I rate: 9/10]

We didn’t have breakfast here. With the city view[much cheaper than river view], the very beautiful swimming pool, fitness and all, I think it was really reasonable price for what we paid [76 euro for 2 person/night]

6. My most impressive thing [I rate: 9.8/10]

Swimming pool,Chatrium

The swimming pool”. It was the most beautiful swimming pool I have been in my life. Imagining you swim in the swimming pool, but you feel like you own the whole river because you can see the breath taking view of the entire river. The best part was when I was sitting in Jacuzzi enjoying the sunset.

If I have a chance, I would definitely go back there!

Both the hotels sound amazing. But i have to say that the winning feature for me would be the pool facing the river. I find the lack of staff troublesome. In my opinion, without adequate staff the hotel is not able to provide it’s guest with the best possible service.

I am planning a honeymoon to Bangkok and I was wondering whether this would be a good hotel for that. The rooms and the pool look fabulous but what about food and general ambiance? Also what kind of location is it? Are there touristy places nearby? Overall, it looks like a great place that has good value for money, and since I am on a budget, I think this should do! Please answer my questions so I can get a better idea and make my final decision. Thanks a lot!

I’m planning a trip to Bangkok and I have to say this article is really making me want to go to the Chatrium Hotel Riverside! It sounds great and the beautiful swimming pool already feels like enough reason to go. I am hesitant because of the lack of staff though…

I am planning a trip to Bangkok in the coming year, and this definitely sounds like a nice place to stop on my way back. The rooms and the pool especially look fabulous. Though the lack of staff is a plus point for me, personally. I like the lobbies of the hotels I am staying in quiet and peaceful.
